I know its not the Zeta platform, but from the details about the Zeta. GM might cancel all rear drive platform plans.

I'm waiting to see what they do for the STi version before I totally write it off. I like the idea of Subaru doing an STi hatchback. The new look of the Impreza is starting to grow on me a little, and if they can manage to make it look decent with the STi, I might trade in my 04 WRX for one.
Anyway, looks aside, the new WRX is going to be a beast on the road. I can only imagine what the souped up version will be like.
I have the 3M film, I like it alot. When it was first applied, you couldn't tell it was on the car at 5 feet away. However, due to a bad install, it became cloudy after a year, but it's still not that bad. I am going to get it replaced this year with a new one.
I can honestly say that the paint on my hood has been saved because of it. I have an 04 WRX and my friend has on 05. Guess whose hood is chipped to shit? Not mine!
Lots of great info at NASIOC.com and autopia.org on the 3M film. It's commonly marketed as Rock Blocker. http://www.rockblocker.com/
My dad's completely happy with his. But like Wildkat said, go for the R/T version to get the better engine. It's a big car that demands a big V8.
My dad has an R/T (AWD I believe) and loves it. Too bad they don't build those things with MTs yet.Awful! Thanks CAFE.
A columnist in Car and Driver credited CAFE regulations with the explosion of SUVs in America. When CAFE mandated certain fuel mileage for cars and not trucks, manufacturers called their big vehicles trucks.
Though I don't understand why GM's RWD vehicles have to have poorer gas mileage than FWD vehicles. Is it because RWD is inherently more expensive and that offering RWD on top of spending extra to increase fuel efficiency is cost-prohibitive?
I think its something like that. I know that BMW's have low gas mileage and will be effected in this new CAFE regulations.

No physics or engineering to back this up whatsoever but intuitively I would think RWD would be less efficient than FWD. You're essentially pushing a vehicle instead of pulling, and have the extra burden of transferring the energy from the front of the car to the rear before it can even be used.
So I went and checked out that Chrysler 300 today, what a bust. The car is very nice and I love the interior but that paticular car had duct tape in the engine, side panels very loose, and the bumper looked like it had been replaced and the paint wasn't the same exact color. Bummer, I was pretty excited.
Tomorrow I am going to check on this but I won't have my hopes up this time: http://www2.citymitsubishi.com/newde...px?Stock=B1161
