That Camaro looks awesome.
I want my '91 Stealth R/T Turbo back.

I'm still driving my '91 Chevy S10 Winter-beater with 305,000 miles on it and it runs pretty damn good. Clutch is becoming problematic but all I did was throw an exhaust on it ($100 - made in the US!) and change the oil. In fact, almost EVERY American car I've owned has been a good car. The exception would be the '94 Dodge Shadow, which went through a few transmissions. Fortunately, I knew the trannys (A604) were a problem (since I research before I buy a car) and bought a warranty so it cost me only the warranty fee.
I think the problem with American cars (yes, there are certainly specific "problem" models / engines) is more the crappy dealer networks. And people who buy Mexican Fords and GM's. Any car Mexican-assembled (be it a VW, Nissan or Toyota) I'd stay the F away from. Case and point, my neighbors had a '94 Sentra they put 174,000 miles on and just got rid of. It was pretty reliable (they had some engine work done on it) but they just bought a newer Sentra with like 10,000 miles on it. I told them it's not going to be as good a car as their Japanese Sentra in the long run but they don't believe me. My sister-in-law works for Nissan and even she'll tell you the same thing. Wouldn't you know it - it runs rougher than my wife's Dodge Intrepid with 100,000+ miles on it and sounds worse than when their old one was running good.
Hubbitron: To bad the car in question was Japanese.

In my experience usa has let me down every time. If I were a millionaire I might own something engineered/built in this country. I never knew what reliability was until I explored imports. I just hate wasting money on gas and repairs. Cars should last 300,000+ miles with the original engine and transmission. You're smart guys, why all the muscle car gushing? Why make a car more efficient to increase power when you can just make the engine bigger right? I love big/fast cars for all those great aesthetic reasons but I would never argue that they are reliable, efficient or nimble. If I sound like a hatr its because I value those things in a vehicle.
