I've been engine breaking since 96. Say word.
Also... just hit 70,000 miles on the xA yesterday. 30,000 to go before the engine swap of lol.
I feel more in control when engine braking.

I drive an auto.
I learned a stick on a Mack Dump Truck. My father was an owner of a landscaping business and he had those around. I learned to drive a stick with that.
I learned to drive oevrall on a '89 Honda Accord.

I got my bike replaced today. Didn't go with the same one, went with a Suzuki SV650S. It's Suzuki's equivalent to the Ninja I had, in many ways the exact same bike but has key differences I liked.

I read. Awesome review Torgo.

I learned manual on a 1988 Nissan hardbody driving off-road on my friends farm. My first car was an 89 Chevy Celebrity. There was nothing to celebrate about that car except, oddly, it's off-road capabilities for a sedan. My first owned manual car was a 92 Integra, much of which is still sitting in my garage. Anyone want a b16a head and and an LS block (poor mans Type-R)?
I don't engine brake all that much for long braking. I do however, use a small amount of engine braking near the the beginning of a corner for rev-matching. For instance, going from 80 on the freeway to a 40-50mph off ramp...throw it in neutral and ease on the brake to get close to cornering speed, for the last 100 feet or so, throw it in 2nd or 3rd depending on the radius, ease back off the clutch to get rev matched, ease on the gas accelerating gently towards the apex, and gun it coming out.
