I could see it being adopted for advertising purposes, like a big hanging display somewhere busy. Conventions or promotional events especially (like auto shows for displaying 3D concept cars) or whatnot.

  2. Both of those are really neat regardless.

  3. You won't see no high-def on either, but I still like the idea.

Maybe sega should get back into making holographic gaming.
"Your soul better belong to Jesus, mmm-mmmmm..... cause your ass belongs to me!"

  4. I've played with the helio-display before, Siggraph last year. Kind of... worthless so far. Neat though. I could definately see it used for advertising.

  5. Oblivion on a HD projector at 12 feet across is cooler than this.

I do like that 3D thing though. The other thing? Looks like the smoke projector from The Illusionist.

  6. The first display is utterly worthless.

The second display.....meh, wake me up when they can project actual 3-D images instead of 2-D images that can viewed from any angle.

  7. The first display is awesome, and the second display is a good step.

  8. yah i loved the first one too.

Dude that could change the way we go to the movies if someone with enough money see it and has the idea. Not only that, but you could put one of those in a center of a theater and play the movie from all sides increasing the amount of people you can hold in one theater
