Yes, and I will be playing mine until school or work calls asking where the hell I am
Yes, but I'm chucking this thing on ebay for some phat ebay cash
No, I'm not a retard thats going to spend $500-$600 on Sony launch hardware
1. No they weren't, but are you seriously comparing a devastating hurricane to a fucking videogame console?
2. If the honest person has money they can get it off eBay. Look - people buy the system at $600. They go on eBay and see people are getting $1000. They sell it. It's all out in the open. If $1000 is the market price then the price will gravitate to $1000. It's called economics!
People who want to sell a product are selling it to people who want to buy it. Nobody is forcing anyone to pay $1000 for it, but if you don't want to pay the market price you won't get it. I want Psychic Killer Taromaru but I don't have the $400 for it, so guess what, no Psychic Killer Taromaru. I'll live, and so will spoiled little Timmy on December the 25th.

How would that save him $300? It's not like he's going to get less than retail for the system. He will have the $640 he dropped on the system back plus any profit. And hopefully the profit will cover the Wii.
I seem to understand his insane moon economics better than your logical earth economics.
The problem is that most of the rich assholes who will spend $1000+ on eBay are not willing to wait in line for 12+ hours to get a MSRP system for sure at launch. So they end up paying someone like myself who is willing to sit in line for them. I remember one guy buying a dude's space in line last year at the 360 launch. He walked up half an hour before the store opened and paid the guy who was waiting in line all night $150 for his spot.
People are lazy and some of us are willing to make some money off of them. Fuck you for judging all of us.

Hey Earl!
I don't think karma gets anybody, but I also don't like ripping people off. Yeah, I know how much a PS3 will probably go for, and I most likely could have gotten one, but I'm sitting it out. I've done the same thing with comics that I could sell for stupid prices and replace with graphic novels. So long as I'm not hurting for cash it's just not worth it.

I voted 'no'. With all the eBay warriors gunning for the system, it probably would have been too much trouble to try and get one just to sell on eBay. Plus, I have this strange feeling that something might go wrong for people selling the PS3 on eBay, like some of launch systems being defective.

I doubt that any of the hardware will be defective straight out of the box. MS does system tests on all 360's leaving the factory, and I'm sure Sony does the same.
With so much new tech in the thing, though, the first batch will more than likely have a high failure rate over the long term.
