I wish LucasArts was smart an would use that ScummVM DS thing to release Day of the Tentacle and Sam and Max, and other games from that era. They'd clean up.
Thanks for making the thread. This quasi adventure game revival is actually my favorite thing about the DS. I love how we're finally seeing not only more adventure games, but a lot of fresh, interesting new takes from new developers. And the DS's features actually benefit the genre more than any other, imo.
I do hope we see a little bit more interest from western adventure game makers, though. I'd even be happy to support ports of the great Lucas Arts games, and maybe some others.
I'm very much looking forward to Level 5's game and Hotel Dusk, both look fantastic. Phoenix Wright should be great, too. Trace Memory was a solid first effort from Cing, but I think Hotel Dusk, with the more interesting plot, and especially (at least what looks to be) the vastly improved control system, will be a much more impressive title. Touch Detective looks very good too, but I hear opinions are mixed. I'm still going to give it a shot based on the look and genre alone.
And yeah, apparently Contact is more like an RPG, but it's on my radar as well.

Cool, nice to see some new adventure games. Even if most of them are Japanese.
Professor Layton reminds me of Tintin in visual style. It has that same 'clean lines' look.
Benoit Sokal's games have been all over the place. He did the horrible Amerzone and the two amazing Syberia games. Definitely one to watch, but probably not a day one title.
I think this revival has got me wanting a DS more than ever before.. ON the Christmas list it goes, with all the games mentioned in this thread, including Contact
I cant wait to start playing these titles, if the feel of the game is as good as the look i will be in heaven...
