I've tried coffee once, and it left an after taste of smoke in my mouth. I don't like smoke.
I much prefer tea, but my co-workers are coaxing me into coffee, because they can't seem to get enough of the shit.

"Hah, Greg, you're terrible!"
I perfer my water without traces of ground up plant matter, thank you.

Those are in America now? I thought that chain was Canada-exclusive.
Coffee. Black. But I just started getting into the aroma therapy of Peppermint tea. I like to make it and just let it sit, steaming in my office, or whever I am. I'll sip on it for awhile after it cools off a bit, then throw it away.
Coffee is awesome. The taste is certainly an acquired one, but once you are into it, you are INTO it. I am recovering from a $12-$16 a day Starbucks habit, which included 3-4 venti Iced Caramel Macchiatto's a day. I usually prefer hot coffee, but those things are just too delicious, and the cold stuff you can just chug.
Agreed for the most part. I do like the frou-frou specialty drinks like Frappucinos every now and then, though. And there was a machine where I worked a few years ago that made some kickass Chai Lattes, man I pounded those back when I was working before the store opened.
And yeah, energy drinks are nasty as hell. Full Throttle is the only one I've found halfway tolerable. Red Bull is disgusting (especially in Jager bombs).

I probably like coffee more. Especially a nice cup of the cheap shit from a diner totally black. I HATE starbucks coffee unless it is served iced or a frap. But that is expensive so I try and avoid it. I also cannot make a decent cup of coffee to save my life, though I have tried many times.
But I don't want to knock tea either. It is also great stuff, but much harder to get a really good cup. Some good stuff served with a bit of milk and sugar is so relaxing. I also enjoy a good glass of southern sweetened ice tea, but living in Wisconsin means that everybody here serves the tasteless unsweetened crap that no matter how many packets of sugar you add to it the stuff never tastes good.
