Thread: JJ's Morrowind tip of the day!

  1. Thanks for the advice.

Acrobatics is a major for my Kajitti Theif too.

But do not mess with his vacation.

  2. Acrobatics is nice, but it doesn't seem to be all that important unless it's a level up requirement. I tend to hop everywhere I go by habit, anyway, just because it's so easy to do.

My big tip is- If nobody's watching, it isn't theft. If it isn't nailed down, it's yours.

When the shopkeeper can't affor 8000 for the jeweled whatsit, buy out his entire inventory and sell it elsewhere. If it weighs too much, drop it on the floor and come back for it later. You won't get nailed for theft. Sure, you end up getting only 3000 or so for your item, but seeing as it was free to begin with what's it matter?

  3. Here is a tip that exploits a bug in the game, so all you cheaters listen up!

    Free infinite bound longsword!
    1. cast bound longsword
    2. unequip the bound longsword
    3. place the bound longsword on the ground
    4. wait till the spell would normally be worn off, then pick it up and it's yours, won't disappear.

This can be done with any (all the ones i tried anyway) bound item. They weigh nothing, and can be repaired for one gold. Not sure if this works with the Xbox version, someone might want to find out and post.

  4. Apparently this exploit has been accounted for in the Xbox version as it won't allow you to unequip any bound items. My magicka-impaired warrior is no position to verify, however.

I'm not sure if this works on the Xbox version, but here's a cheap, CHEAP way to get your alchemy to 100 in about 10 minutes.

Go to Ajira in the Balmora Mage's Guild, buy two ingredients. Doesn't matter which, except that they have to be two ingredients that can mix together to make a potion. Then, sell all of those ingredients back to her. You'll notice that her inventory of that item has doubled. She automatically regenerates double of the number of that ingredient she has in her inventory, so keep buying all of the two items and selling all of the two items over and over again until she has about 2000 of each. Then, get your alchemy on, and mix those two items over and over. By the end your alchemy should be up to 100, your finger will be numb from the clicking, and you'll probably have about 1000 Restore Fatigue potions or whatever. You'll be dreadfully over-encumbered, so just drop the potions on the floor. The best part is, you can sell all these potions all over the world to make all your money back and then some.

    And awaaaay I go!
Thanks! That exactly the kind of cheapness I was looking for.

Let me know if that works on the Xbox version, because I don't have it around at the moment to check myself.

  8. I think you'll regret your cheapness later though. I bought a lot of skill levels for my character Kei and now with them at or near 100, I've lost the satisfaction of building them up.

Besides, Alchemy can build up very fast if you make use of it. Just get ingredients from nature or from raiding bandits and just make whatever potions you can with them. I've gotten some pretty cool combinations, like a restore health potion that restore 10 points for 29 seconds. Good thing for a particularly hard combat. I've made a lot of useless potions too, but I just sell those off.

  9. Here is a tip for thieves early on in the game. In Balmora go to the Mage's guild & travel to Caldara. Go up the tower in the mage's guild there & you will find a ton of really expensive Alchemy tools. Steal this stuff & travel back to Balmora & sell it at the Alchemy shop for over 2,000 gold. Really helpful if this is the first thing you do in Balmora. Extra cash always helps early on.

BTW I am really loving this game, I'd like to thank Mode 7 for raving about it for so long. Otherwise I probably wouldn't have checked it out.

  10. Heh, no problem. Always glad to spread the good word.

I actually grabbed the same alchemy stuff in Caldera -- such an easy steal. The owner annoyed me too, so I can't say I felt too bad about it.
