Hmm, no. I don't recall Guitar Hero II giving allowing you to chainsaw an enemy to death or curb stomp their face into the ground. I'm sorry, but GoW is GOTY hands down. Try playing the game and you will see what everyone who has played the game here is raving about.

Sorry Cap, GoW is great, but I will be playing both Guitar Hero games for far longer down the road then I will be GoW. Gears is still fucking outstanding, but Guitar Hero transcends time. Plus I can already tell, unless more multiplayer modes are added with more variety and they fixed ranked games, multiplayer won't have the longevity that people have been expecting it to. Still a shit load of fun, don't get me wrong, but strictly deathmatch is still strictly deathmatch.

GH2 isn't even the best PS2 game of the year. Hell, I'd argue both Yakuza and Bully were better. It's still great, but it's basically an expansion pack.

Do not be ignorant. If you had truly played both, you would know the entire second hour (and much of hours 5 and 6, and the optional hours 25-90) of Guitar Hero II is chainsawing dead babies while curb stomping their mothers directly to the cervix. And Guitar Hero II has Freebird. Gears of War will never have that.

I can see how some people could keep playing them, but I got pretty bored playing GH after a month. I think the 360 version of 2 will change that with dl'able songs, but GoW is just my type of game.

Also, Epic put so much effort into this game that they deserve GOTY.
