A new 360 dashboard update is out - it fixes some of the issues with 1080p over VGA and a few other things:

The next time you sign into Xbox Live, you’ll be prompted for a dashboard update. The update contains:

Improved support for HD video output over VGA, including 1080p resolution
Improved plug and play performance for wired headsets when being used with wireless controllers
Changes made to recently played games list to improve accuracy

It didn't kill the campaign (casual) save where I finished the game, it killed the partial hardcore campaign save (check point) which I now have to do over from the beginning. If you know what I mean.

Okay guys. Im officially in for the MS family bundle. Total is $445 after shipping (only $10!). Chances are ill get rid of PGR3 and at least play thru Kameo. Would it be in my best interest to get the vga cable? I don’t have a hi def tv (just a plain bulky flat screen with component inputs) but I do have a 20” widescreen monitor. Also is the Live Gold sub the best one or is there a platinum? GoW will be my first game to get so are any of the retailers having any trade in deals with 360 games?

I'd say go with the VGA + monitor.

Cool. He gets the cables for $25 so I don’t know how good of a discount that it. I recently got off probation for my dui so I look foreward to babbling drunk and losing horribly to you guys online =D

$40 retail. Don't forget to check Blockbuster for games, I recall them having good trade-in prices and running deals now and then.
