Like I said I wanted it so I could get it fixed. I think it's cheaper than just out right buying one, especially if it has the Red Ring of Death. I think MS is fixing those for free.

They were reffering to what you said about putting the HD player in the system. If you replaced the drive in the 360 with the HD player, than you wouldn't be able to play games.

Xbox 360 have keys embedded in both the motherboard and the DVD drive. If they do not match, nothing works.

I guess you could extract the key from the DVD BIOS (there are tools for this) and inject it into the HD-DVD's BIOS (if those drives even support that).

Yeah, but not games. My regular dvd player won't read an 360 game.

So you would have to hack the bios as well as the drive... and I wonder why people are putting the hd dvd in a pc and not in the 360

Wait. So if I own a Japanese Xbox 360 (don't ask why I would do this) and go online with it in the US, on either a XBL account created on the Japanese or an American Xbox, I get banhammered?
