Nothing touches the first level of the first game on the harder settings. Loop around 2 or three times and be prepared to bust out your ninja barrel jumping skills. That being said, all three are great games. I love how all three are compleatly different too. No re-hash in sight.....untill Rare gets it's hands on the series. As much as I love the Nintendo Donkey Kong, that's how much I hate the Rare Donkey Kong. Could somebody please tell Rare how do design a character? Or better yet, could somebody please tell Rare to not funk around with an already existing perfectly good character design.

Donkey Kong Jr. was always my favorite (only because out of the three, I'm the best at that one).

And good job on leaving out Rare developed DK games.

I first crossed over into the realm of the hardcore gamer at the controls of a Donkey Kong, Jr. cabinet. I had something like $8.63 in my pocket - not a bad amount to have at that age - and I started playing DKJr. After I had spent a couple of dollars, my friend, who had been playing Super Pac-Man, tried to convince me to leave or play Robotron or anything but keep playing Donkey Kong. I only removed my hands from the controls to pump in more quarters, until I ran out of money. My friend thought I was possessed. I love that game.

But . . .

the original was better. The music, the visuals, the jumping, the sound effects, the difficulty level - all were epic. DK stands as one of the greatest arcade games of all time.

Chibi Nappa's point about all three games being so different from one another is worth noting. It points to one reason Nintendo is the greatest developer of all time. Oh, but that's another thread, isn't it.

Eh? I though that game wasn't even shown, just announced.
