Thread: Shinjuku no Okami

    PlayStation 2 Shinjuku no Okami

I have a hard time believing that Capcom can't beat Sega at nearly any genre any time, so Sunjuku no Okami could be a winner in the cell-shaded Yakuza rip-off category.

  2. O... kami?
    Donk

    A furry-less Okami game FTW.

  4. Interesting. I'll keep my eye on this. I like what I've played of Yakuza and will eventually purchase it, but I know it won't be long before it hits $19.99, so I'll wait until then.

And no, I don't believe it's my responsiblity as a gamer to subsidize gaming companies with my hard earned money as if it's their entitlement.

the guy who represents himself with an anthropomorphised reptile is calling other furries. but since its about yakuza, they could be either using it as wolf, for a toughguy type feel, or god(an alternate reading of okami) as in a leader. either way, its cel shading, and its capcom and not a sequel, so my interest is piqued.

oh and why in the heck is the word okami linked to an ad for a kenpo school?

  7. I'd be interested if it didn't have cell shading

Lucky for you, that game already exists! Go play Yakuza. It's worth the full price, but yeah, I imagine a pricedrop would make it even more attractive. Either way, can't go wrong.

Cel shading does seem like a weird choice for this kind of title, but I'm not content to judge it on shots of that poor quality. Could be cool, although right now it's looking like a pretty huge ripoff.
