Did that site's Wii count just drop a good 200k?
That site sucks.
Nintendo still impresses me. I remembered reading years ago how just the US branch had several BILLION in the bank (and this was way before the GB went gangbusters).
"Recent financial figures released by Kyoto's most successful hanafuda manufacturer explain just how sickeningly rich the company is. NCL's total net assets as of September 30th, 2006 stand at US$10.86 billion. Do you know how many Rares you could buy for that? Too many!
Nintendo's net sales (nothing to do with this here internet) for this fiscal year, which ends on March 31st, 2007, are forecast to be US$6.378 billion, while net profits (after the taxmen have taken their pieces of the sumptuous pie) for this financial year are expected to total US$862 million. That's quite a lot of money.
According to a statement released by Nintendo of Japan's accountants, which we've partially emboldened for scary effect: "

ABOUT ME.
"Underground music should have its back turned, it needs to be gone, untrackable, unreadable"
I can honestly say that MS has won my heart as my favorite system this gen. If it wasn't for xbox live on the original xbox, I wouldn't have cared as much for the 360, but with GRAW, SC, GoW and more, I could care less what Sony has coming down their pipe line. Nintendo has some interesting stuff coming out, but nothing that compares to the 360 to me personaly, but they still have games that interest me a lot more than what the PS3 has to offer.
Yet MS is the one that seems to be doing everything right. Great games, incredible, easy to use, and functioning online service, plenty of unforced options to up the price, and they aren't cocku jack asses. MS pretty much does what they are say they are going to do, and when things don't work out, they apologize. I LOL at Sony when they promise something and when they discard go "too bad, we are still going to charge you out of your ass".
I greatly agree with this statement. GRAW wowed the shit out me the first time I played it, and I still think it looks great when I play it today.
This just shows the stupidity of many people out there. I just don't see why anyone would buy a PS3 at launch for $600. As far as I know, Resistance is the only game worth owning for it, and its not as good as GoW. Nothing fantastic is coming out till March or April, and even then, MS has some great looking game coming out at around the same time on a cheaper system, and guess what, they will look almost as good or just the same, but MS will have the better online service. I can see myself one day getting a PS3, and part of me wants one just to have the latest new tech toy, but nothing in the near future has me excited.

I agree, but you really can never predict just how dumb people are. This just shows the stupidity of many people out there. I just don't see why anyone would buy a PS3 at launch for $600. As opposed to multiple companies having the most units out at launch?
Seriously though, if Sony matched Wii shipments unit-for-unit there would either be PS3's languishing on store shelves or PS3's languishing on Ebay (this is more likely). Sony's actually being intelligent by shipping so few PS3's; they don't want to draw attention to the fact that mainstream gamers aren't spending $600 for a videogame system. In any sensible gamer's eyes Sony has no right to charge that for their system, not when Xbox360 is such a superior product for $200 less.
You're right that these numbers don't mean shit, because some guy is just making them up.
Only the fanboys will be paying $600 for a system that's soon to be dead in the water. Sony themselves stated they will start breaking even in two years when the cost of manufacturing finally comes down, but that will probably be extended thanks to everyone buying software at a 0-1 ratio.
"Your soul better belong to Jesus, mmm-mmmmm..... cause your ass belongs to me!"
Yes, in two years it will only cost $600 to make a PS3 (it costs about $879 now). If Sony's admitting that they'll still be charging $600 per system for holiday 2008 then they might as well pack up the tent now. Xbox 360 Premium will be $249 by then and Xbox3 will be a year away (If MS sticks to the 4 year lifecycle model).
I think 360 is making a profit now from what I heard.
