Thread: Michael Richards (Kramer) loses it on stage

  1. You won't know unless you're a minority in this country. It's something I've tried to write down in my journal and in short stories but it never really comes out the way it truly is. Ever wonder why immigrants like to congegrate together in a section of a city? It's because they can relate to each other. Entertainment has the same effect.

On television, people can enjoy a program more if they can totally relate to something on the show. Comedians do it all the time: "What's the deal with buses?" See, a lot of people who have ridden buses can relate to the comedian and find it more enjoyable. It's all about being able to go "yeah, I know exactly what you mean."

I enjoy a lot of programs that I cannot relate to but those that I can always leave a deeper impression no matter how shitty the show is in retrospect. I guess the only way to really experience this is to make you watch a Latin-produced show (with English dub or whatever) and see if you enjoy the show.

  2. Sabado Gigante!!

  3. It's stupid to think that minorities get a free pass because certain members of a race like to pull the race card or cry racism, because those said people are bitches. I don't think it's logical to deny that minorities are subject to alot of negative racism just because some of them abuse the political correctness people surround themselves with. In the end, white people still get the most advantages(racially) in America. The whole "white people get nothing" thing is irrational, because some people just take the obvious white-centricism in entertainment and culture in general for granted. If a TV show had an all-black cast, it would by default have to address racism, but a show like Friends with an all-white cast does not. Similarly, an Asian film can't just be re-released in the US, it has to be re-made with white people in the cast.

white people, being default is good. Shut up about it already.

A rally is a show of force or unity to a cause; when people want equal rights or something from their employer they will strike and rally, when people want to stop a war they rally, when people want to show that they will take a stand for a cause they rally. They're only celebrations in a very loose sense of the world.

How the fuck would a bunch of white people gathering together to show how much they love being white and how proud they are of being white be a positive happy celebration and not a inward looking circle-jerk? What causes do whites really have to rally for?

I mean, take the Million Man March, do you really thank that was a celebration of black culture? Or a show of force, in that they WILL vote and they WILL try to make a stand for topics important to their culture.

I'm proud of being Australian and being white. The later means I'm proud of my race and its culture, the former means I'm proud that my race isn't my nation.

I see what you're getting at. I have trouble relating to that feeling. I have a pretty sempathetic personality and can talk to just about anyone about something.

that is kind of sad though. Sounds kind of lonely.

Jews are Caucasian. Judaism is NOT A RACE, Semitic peoples are no more a different race than Italians are a different race from Germans. Further proof the whole pseudoscientific 'race' concept is outmoded Victorian garbage.
