    Yeah, but levelling should never really be your solution to beating a tough part. Getting better weapons, spells and armour is. Or just sneaking past everything.

    I think other rpgs have programmed people to feel fighting is necessary and levels are a reward. In Elder Scrolls, they're just kind of a natural byproduct of what you're otherwise doing. You could use a character with no primary weapon or armour skills and still finish the game.

    I'd say it's even easier that way. Largely removes accidental leveling.

    Oblivion Game of the Year Edition coming in September

    Surprising practically no one, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion will have a "Game of the Year" edition released this September on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3, Bethesda announced today. If you've been keeping up with the downloadable content for the game on the PC or Xbox 360, you can go ahead and move along, there's nothing to see here. But if you've been holding out, you'll soon be able to pick up the new edition, which includes the expansions Knights of the Nine and The Shivering Isles, as well as the full game, naturally.

    The big question is, of course, the one we don't have the answer to: Price. The components separately would run between $90 and $100, but we feel fairly comfortable in our assumption that it won't be that much. We've asked Bethesda about cost, and if we hear anything, we'll let you know.

    I am at the end of Enchanted Arms, and I have been enjoying this (admittedly average) JRPG up until this point. But holy mother of god, the last boss is insanely cheap. I died 4 times in a row not even scratching a few points of damage (she fucking heals herself) so I did some research and lo and behold, I have to do some mindless casino gambling to raise enough cash to BUY tons and tons of health upgrade before even having a chance.

    WTF, I don't even mind SOME mindless leveling, but I am not even fighting anything other than CHANCE, since I need to gamble, takes the winning and buy this upgrade. What a shitty design.

  10. I went around jumping alot, talking to alot of people, sneaking alot. I gained alot of levels just messing around, and when i finally started trying to do the main quest, it was completely impossible. I was only like level 11 and my guy was impossibly weak, taking on one monster was a large challenge that required me breaking game mechanics. Then I turned down the difficulty, and was ashamed of myself.

    Nonetheless, the game should level you up based on combat ability, not on level.
