I'm kind of surprised Alien Crush made it on since it was a Naxat game in Japan, and I figured the rights to their games might have been lost. It's an awesome game. Anyone who missed out on it before should check it out.
Gunstar Heroes for sure. I love me some Puyo, but at this point, that's one of the least exciting versions, especially with it being the Americanized version.

I'll get Gunstar Heroes, mainly since every time I tried to emulate it, I've had graphical issues with it.
Strange, but true.
To you genius engineers/programmers:
Is it as fucking hard as I think it is to implement online content in a game that wasn't originally on it? Or is it a matter of just writing a few lines of code?

If by "online content" you mean just multiplayer it wouldn't be that hard. The best way to do that AFAIK would be to build it into the emulator itself and basically give it the ability to swap second player input with an online connection. It would take a good amount of work at first, especially with however they choose to have the server (I'm guessing have each console become its own server and have it selectable to send out a signal which can be accepted by another player, similar to how XBL handles it), but if it's done like that then nothing should have to be altered to any of the games and everything immediately becomes online capable.
Of course, the PC emulators I used never had perfect netcode so maybe there's something I don't know about. Or they just did a shitty job.
You can fairly easily program an emulator that can change input from controller port 2 to an IP address. You can also get more complicated than that and program for latency prediction and such.
Regardless, Xbox Live seems to be doing it without a problem, so it's just Nintendo being lazy. No one would mind if they took two weeks off from releasing four games a week to just release Super Mario Kart online.

I bought the Alien Crush JP HuCard plus case, used, for $5 three years ago.

I tried logging into Shop channel (at 11:30am) and it just sat there. Looks like everybody's trying to get in at once. Oddly enough, I couldn't turn off the Wii with the remote or the power button.
