Thread: Official Wii Virtual Console Thread

  1. Get your ass to the score thread and start contributing! I would much rather play Alien Crush than study for finals and write papers. So I'm going to. End of story

    Yes, pretty much.

  2. Sony's losing money because of Blu-Ray DVD playback, not because of the video game capabilities
You could easily make the arguement that blu ray does benifit the games. More over why do all nintendo fans hate it when the system does more than play games? I don't get it.

Blu-Ray and other non-gaming features are great, so long as they don't increase the cost of the console. Sony should be charging $400 and eating the BR cost, making the money back on BR DVD sales, not arrogantly assuming that everyone will buy their console no matter what and forcing us to buy a BR player in order to get a PS3.

I have made many posts like RoleTroll's over the years, but the 360 has changed my mind. For $150 more than the Wii, I can play online with a real friends list, stream media from my PC and Zune, use custom soundtracks via this streaming without using a single MB of HDD space, download TV shows and movies in HD, have the option of watching HD-DVDs for $200, and have the option of mapping my face into games for $40. The Wii at $250 with its functionality is much more of an embarassment than the 360 with its "non-gaming" functions at $400.

  5. I don't have a problem with the 360. MS made it pretty clear around E3 that they intended to drop the 360's price when the PS3 launched, but changed their mind when Sony announced the $600 price. So I don't think MS is charging more for additional functionality; they charged an extra $100 when there was no competition, and kept the price high when Sony announced it wasn't going to be competitive.

And the HD-DVD optional add-on is very nice. I have every intention of buying a 360.

I couldn't care less about non-gaming functions; I'm getting a 360 to play games like Gears of War and Halo 3. I have a PC for multimedia functions.

    Um... what?

  9. It's the version that's on his Wii, so it's better.

I haven't compared them recently but I always liked the TG16 version more. The Genesis version has nice additions and looks better in the bonus areas but the Turbo one looks better in the main playfield.
