Thread: Deja Vu

  1. Yeah, I watched this yesterday. I had thought there would be more time travel to this movie, as it would have made the story a little better; as in fixing the mistakes he made before.

Still, it was a good movie, but you have to question: How did Denzel's blood and fingerprints get all over her apartment the first time? If he was there before, why couldn't he save her then?

The whole thing reminds me of the time travel in the first Terminator. How could there be a first John to send back Kyle, if Kyle was his daddy?

I liked it but that was the only thing that got to me too was the whole PARADOX1 of it all. If his first self had come back and failed wouldnt this version we were watching have bumped into his other self? And then they'd both melt into a big blob like that bad guy in Timecop. Time travel is a tricky topic to do.

  3. The movie was good, but the time travel aspects where not resolved well at all as many have mentioned already. As long as you shut off half of your brain to some of the time traveling, its a good movie.
    Go 2 H3LL

  4. watched this last weekend. totally not what i expected and completely hillarious how all the sudden they're like "heyas....we figured out time travel!"

can't say i'll put it back in the dvd player.

  5. Here's an issue I thought of. If he saved the ferry and died at the end, and his other self goes off w/the girl, then that self never finds out about the time travel, thus never goes back in time to begin with.

    Am I wrong about this?

No your not, and also it doesn't explain weither if you change the past does the current "time line" stop, or do you just creat an alternate univerese while the other one continues to exist. And if that happened, can the people who are watching you in the original universe still , or have the ability to see you etc etc. What if they go back and try to keep Denzels character from dieing?

Theres just to many questions. You can't just fuck around with time travel. Even the Terminator movies "currently" thanks to T3, made a time paradox in their timeline.
Dont be a robot, be human.

  7. They had a small blurb in the movie about Denzel's character finding his other self.

remember when he's about to go back in time and that one crazy scientist with the bad clothes style, says something about looking back on denzel's past after he goes back in time. He says something about the Coroner wanting to show him something weird and then shows him his own dead body".
