As far as my earlier comment goes, about giving the Smash Bros. franchise to Capcom/SNK, I still stand by it to an extent. However, I do agree that it would be a really stupid idea as well...
The main problem for the Smash Bros. franchise, to me, is the fact that Nintendo actually markets it as a fighting game and NOT a party game. Moreover, when I think of fighting games, the first thing that always pops into my head is Street Fighter or Fatal Fury/King of Fighters. So, of course when I first heard they were making a fighting game with Nintendo characters, years ago, I invisioned at least a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament fighter style of gameplay. Thus, whenever I play Super Smash Bros. I am sorely disappointed with the lack of proper move lists for each character...and even the lack of a health meter. The way matches are decided in a Smash Bros. game is so tedious and random that it reminds me of a wrestling video game.
Now if Nintendo would stop marketing Super Smash Bros. as a fighting game, and if that G4 channel would stop calling it the "number 2 fighting game of all time"(behind Soul Calibur) then I suppose it would help me to start seeing it as a party game...
"There haven't been hardware problems such as the red ring of death?"
Not for me.
"The backward compatibility list includes Xbox classics like Orta?"
I'm with you on that. But you know the console's good when the worst you can say about it is that some of the better games aren't backwards compatible. I mean, If the Wii was awesome but didn't play RE4, it would still be awesome.
I have put in just as much informative stuff as you. I posted GT Pro Series, Splinter Cell review, Wii Far Cry shots, NES soccer VC review, online target date news...

a.k.a. www.justfuckinggoogleit.comAs mentioned, each quadrant on the set of flashing red lights indicates a different issue. If all of the lights but the first section are flashing, this means a general hardware failure has occurred. There is little to be done other than trying to unhook and reattach your cables. This problem is a sure sign a visit to the repair center is in your console’s future. If the problem is indicated in the second quadrant of the system, it is merely overheating. As too many hours of GRAW will do that to a unit, the proposed cure here is to unplug the unit from the power supply, let it sit to cool down, and perhaps begin scouting for a better location to store your precious investment.
A problem indicated in the third quadrant of the Xbox 360 ring of light is diagnosed as a hardware failure. Once again, try re-inserting all of your cords and cables, but this problem should definitely be dealt with by the repair center. If all four lights are flashing on the front of your console, this is perhaps the easiest problem to fix. This is an issue with the AV cable not being properly inserted into the back of the console. The cure? Just make sure the cord “clicks” once it has been inserted into the unit. If that doesn’t work, of course call the repair center, but the four lights are the easiest of the problems to rectify.
Smash Bros. is not a party game. It is a smashing game.

And how the hell is it tedious? I mean, if you're referring to your dumb friend that sets lives to 200 then I can see that, but playing in an idiotic manner will do that. Stuff like couple minute timed matches for whoever gets the most KOs is just awesome. You get a crazy as hell game where a bunch of people can play and it doesn't matter how bad some people are because they have unlimited lives during that time. It's great. It's true. I too was unable to enjoy the game until someone else told me that I was allowed. Now if Nintendo would stop marketing Super Smash Bros. as a fighting game, and if that G4 channel would stop calling it the "number 2 fighting game of all time"(behind Soul Calibur) then I suppose it would help me to start seeing it as a party game...
