Hopefully this is a wake up call to good Japanese developers to stop making games for the system.

According to Enterbrain, the best-selling 360 game of the weekend was Namco's Ridge Racer 6, which sold 29,891 copies. The runners-up were lagging far behind, however--Perfect Dark Zero came in second with 14,897 games sold, and Need for Speed Most Wanted took third place with 6,842 moved out the door.

# Total PS3 units sold: 88,400 (33,800 20GB; 54,600 60GB)
# Best Selling Game: Riiiiidge Racer 7 (30,300 units)
# Second Place: Gundam Crossfire (30,000 units)
# Bronze Medal: Resistance: Fall of Man (15,700 units)

If launch numbers stop Japan developers from making games, all we'll get is Riiiiiiiidge Racer and shitty Gundam games. Also, 360 had a system to game rate of .91 while PS3 was .98. Maybe Japan will just stop making games altogether. Hey, no loss there. rotful at Gundam Piss in the Player's Face selling nearly as much as Ridge Racer.

We don't need more Ridge Racer games. Maybe if they did something to the franchise it wouldn't have sold like crap (in Japan, obviously every 360 game sells like crap, but that's because they have poor taste in pretty much everything in life).

How about both services actually do shit to compete for buyers instead of releasing either too few games to actually care about or just dumping roms with nice emulators.

Japan sales are usually pretty anger inducing anyway, and neither launch had much else to choose from. For rly, it's kind of all shit all around. I really would've liked to see a genuinely good game that actually improves by leaps and bounds upon its predecessor (Trauma Center) sell more. I wonder what the American launch numbers were.
