Thanks for the link. I just got to checking it out now. Some things just don't add up in that article. I think it proves my theory that consumers think they know what they want, but they really don't.

And while the PlayStation 3 is the most expensive system, of those interested in buying just one console 62 percent responded that it would be Sony's.

"Price is definitely a factor, but not as much as is content," said Anita Frazier industry analyst, The NPD Group. "I've long been a believer that it isn't any particular technical capability that will win this next console battle. The story continues to be content."

While the PS3 was tops for people looking to buy just one new console, among the Heavy Gamer segment the Wii garnered slightly more purchase interest than Sony's platform (79 percent vs. 70 percent). We made the assumption that perhaps this was driven by price, since Wii is the least expensive and these gamers are already spending more than anyone else. Frazier disagreed, however.

"Again, I think it's about content. Keep in mind that our segmentation study revealed that a good portion of heavy gamers are kids & teens. Nintendo has some great proprietary content that is attractive to and suitable for these heavy gamers that aren't necessarily playing 'mature content.' So I think it's less about price for the heavy gamer group, and quite a bit about the great games (e.g. Zelda) that these heavy gamers enjoy playing," she explained.

Considering that the 360 has the best line up of games well into 2007, I don't understand how content is cited as the number one factor. Maybe everyone who took the survey already had a 360? Or bad taste?

    Diff'rent stroks for diff'rent folks I suppose.

  2. Just grabbed all my accessories. I can confirm that the PAL Wii Play also comes in a full size white DVD case.
    ABOUT ME.

"Underground music should have its back turned, it needs to be gone, untrackable, unreadable"

  3. I went to Walmart tonight to exchange that SD card after trying everything conceivable to get it to work on my computer. Brought a new one home, same problem. It's got to be my drivers or something but I've got the most recent drivers from the manufacturer's website. I have no clue what to do at this point.

On the bright side, they had 2 Wiimotes so I snagged them. I'm not sure I'll keep them both though; I'll either put one on Ebay or give it to someone here at cost.

  4. Wii that pulsates along with any music/sound!! It uses a internal chip and will cost only $20

I don't know what's neater/quirkier, the fact the Wii works with a tiny tv or that such a tiny television would exist, period. It's like a little Animal Crossing TV come to life.

  6. I finally got to play more Excite Truck, I posted my impressions in the Excite Truck thread. In summary I love the game because it plays like ExciteBike.

  7. So do you mean that it's on the cutting edge of 1985, or that it provides a lot of great, mindless fun?

  8. 1985...

    was a good year.

Does it play that keen little tune before the game starts up? When God makes me rich after i kill all of the infidels, i will pay an orchestra to play that wonderful tune. Also, Pinball. NES medley. i wonder if it's already out there somewhere...
