I see no problems with this statement.

It's not, with that. Konami said they could do things like release SOTN on XBL, but since MS won't allow XBLA games to be larger then the size of the memory card it won't happen yet. The next size upgrade is supposed to be 256MB IIRC, so it may happen then. If at all. Which it should.

  4. The 500mb roof for PS3 arcade games will force Microsoft's hand at some point, especially when we start seeing bigger hard drives.

  5. Competition is good.

  6. Try to avoid statements on things you don't have a clue about. You'll thank me later.
and on that note - just please reiterate the Yossy thing then? There are more than a couple of Japanese speakers who know EXACTLY what this is about - myself included - infact, someone already did most the work and i'm incredibly curious to see how that big fountain of knowledge you have spurting out of all orifices stacks up.

So come on - lets hear it....

As for calling your opinion more valid - seriously.... do you date anyone , or do you just snog a mirror?

besides, i wouldn't wipe my arse with your opinion - i'd get MORE shit on me if i did.

I was making fun of the fact that the japanese will sometimes do shit like writing words that should be in katakana in hiragana and vice versa, for seemingly random reasons... emphasis, thinking it looks prettier this way, readability, boredom and so on. It seriously fucks with the foreign learner when you try to read something and figure out what the fuck the word is to finally figure out that it's an English word.

Looking at the game it looks like the Magical was written in hiragana so that it would look prettier on the cover.
Now, I don't know about Japanese per se, but this happens all the time in Spanish, and I'm sure it has to happen there too. People here do that all the time. They change things phonetically like "home run" to hon ron" and "weekend" to "wiken" to make it easier for native speakers to pronounce. They also have no distinction between mall and strip mall in Spanish, and use the actual terms "mall" and "shopping" (as in "vamos al shopping")to make the distinction. There's no written rule for it; it's just the way people do things.

Someone trying to learn Spanish here has all those Anglosisms and cultural linguistic perks to take into account, and it's a bitch sometime. I'm sure that Japan has a similar situation.

Well yeah, that happens all the time in Japanese. In fact there really isn't such a thing as english here, just kana english, at least in general. The thing I was pointing out there is the alphabet used. Which I'm pretty sure is a Japanese only thing.

You see, Japanese has two phoenetic alphabets. Technically (as in according to the written rules), one of them is for Japanese words, and one for words of foreign origin. BUT, that isn't adhered to very strictly, hence my point of how confusing it is. Pronunciation wise they're virtually identical, but the alphabet used is supposed to help clue you in if the word is a japanized version of a foreign word.

yeah, been out here for *looks at calendar* cripes... 6 years 4 months :/
Quite a stretch to say the least.

There are a couple off here i know are here because i know them but yeah, there are a lot of west-originating gamers out here. the JGAF contingent is pretty big (double figures at least).

So your here over xmas? nice -feel free to drop me a PM - although , unfortunately, we don't get any time off work over xmas and i have to spend new years with my inlaws.

Anyways, back to Recap - any chance of an answer? or are you busy reassessing your internet assembled opinion on the Japanese language in the mean time?
