Sylvia hasn't done anything to deserve a rematch. He was weak his last few fights, and Couture ruined him.
I'd like to see a rematch just because Sylvia is such a bitch and he makes a great heel, but he really doesn't belong.

this is the UFC that doesn't believe in "rankings" or if people "deserve" one or not. this is the UFC that only seems to care about buyrates. since Couture only has two more fights you can bet your ass Cro-Cop will be #2 and Silvia/Couture 2 will be #3.

Tonight on Observer Live, Loretta Hunt (of the Fight Network and the writer of Randy's bio) stated that he'll face Cro Cop if Cro Cop wins his next fight, and that he wants the fight to be soon due to Mirko's inexperience in the cage. She also said that she's 50 pages into the book right now, and it'll probably be 200-250 pages and in stores within the year. The working title is Randy Couture: the Story of Life's Ultimate Fighter. They also spent this morning pitching a movie of his life to Hollywood agents, and Randy spent five hours signing autographs for fans. She also stated that the Fight Network will be coming to the U.S. sometime in '07, but couldn't specify a date.

I was in Columbus for the 2007 Arnold Classic so I checked out the PPV as well. Pretty fucking cool in person.
By the same logic you could say that Randy hadn't done anything to deserve his title shot either, having lost his last two matches against Liddell.
That said, Randy's will be a better champ and I don't think Syliva should get a rematch, mainly because he sucks. I am sad that Cro Cop will be decapitating Randy instead, however. Perhaps CC and Sylvia can have a #1 conterner's match or something beforehand.

It's been confirmed. He wasn't an especially successful fighter, but that sucks for his little boys.
In less depressing news, the card for PRIDE 34 is sounding good:
"PRIDE announced Mark Hunt, Sergey Kharitonov, Josh Barnett, Wanderlei Silva (who was medically suspended by the NSAC until 4/11), Kazuyuki Fujita, Denis Kang, Minowaman (Ikuhisa Minowa), Makoto Takimoto, Zulu, and Butterbean for their PRIDE 34 (4/8 Saitama Super Arena event)."
Hopefully they'll match up Zulu and Butterbean together for a freak match, I'd rather them not waste some of the other fighters' time on them. I'm guessing they won't have a Silva/Hunt rematch since they likely want Wanderlei to start winning again. Minowa/Silva II maybe. Hunt/Barnett II would be ok, but I would rather see Fujita fight Hunt. Two of the toughest chins in the game could make for an entertaining night.
Also, I haven't watched it yet but all of the fights from K-1 HERO's 3/12 show are uploaded here. Gary Goodridge vs Jan Nortje? lol
