Thread: Official MMA Discussion Thread

  1. Dreamcast

I agree w/Kid's thoughts about WarMachine. The guy has some tools that would work a lot better if he had some moral support. He mentioned it with tears in his eyes (omgpussy amirite?!?) about how he doesn't have anyone (family, etc) really rooting for him. Could you imagine how Hughes would treat him?

I liked Serra talking him up after the loss. Get WarMachine in a quality camp where he can get some ppl who believe in him and I'll bet his head starts to clear up.

I was interested in his story and will be rooting for him in the future.

  2. Didn't WarMachine train at the Lion's Den? Also I think it mentioned he sparred with Phil Baroni a bit.

I wish Hughes didn't win a match, but it was close enough... he really doesn't understand people, and ended up treating people like shit.. and dana just fed into that this last episode. For a lot of new comers, this season had some really good first round fights. I look forward to seeing these guys in real events down the road.
look here, upon a sig graveyard.

he probably would have been the coach/father figure to him. in case you guys forgot the original time Hughes coached, they didn't put this wicked asshole, bible thumper creation out the last time. sure he has his beliefs but at the same time is anything he's saying or the way he's coaching wrong? what they show is what makes good tv. plain and simple they keep trying more and more each season to make this some Real World/MTV soap opera bastard and sometimes i actually can't stand watching it. NONE of his guys listened to him and won. the two that did (Mac and the farmer boy) were the winners from his camp. all Hughes has been bitching about the whole series is how nobody listens to the corner or that they stray to far from what they're good at. ALL of Serra's guys listen to him. i think it's funny that a kid with realistically no formal training beats somebody who supposedly trained at the Lion's Den and with Baroni simply because he had heart and LISTENED to his corner.

im really interested to see what the next episode holds. it sounded like Serra wanted Hughes's guys fighting each other, Hughes got pissed (and to an extent i agree with him) and some big decision needs to be made. it'll be interesting.

and Gooch the first overseas ppv in Ireland was a ppv, the next two in England were free. i figured we made that clear.

  6. It looked like the decision would go down to a coin flip. Personally, I think Matt Serra should be allowed pick all the fights and if that means Hughes' two remaining fighters have to fight each other, so be it. Guess what... Serra's guys have to fight each other too.

  7. its not a coin flip. the reason Serra made a big deal after winning 5 is because he gets to pick all the fights in the next round.

of course Serra's guys will fight as well but i think he wanted it so it was just his guys in the finals and if he could take out one of Hughe's guys without using one of his then so be it.

  8. They showed it coming down to a coin flip in the preview of next week as to whether Serra would get his way regarding Hughes' fighters fighting each other. I have no problem with Serra putting the last two Hughes fighters against each other for the next fight. I don't see what the big deal is.

  9. ahh gotcha. i thought you meant the whole semi finals was decided with a coin flip.
