  1. Serra Injured, Withdraws From UFC 79 Card

    Bummer.

Last weeks TUF episode was pretty good btw. I am always a fan of watching the coaches challenge. Though no slow motion ping pong shots (like last seasons) was a bit of a disappointment haha.

  2. so is Hughes still on the card? wtf, now all i have to look foreward to is a non-technical bout between Liddell and Silva on my birthday. great.

Hughes vs. GSP I believe is official now.

  4. well that certainly makes me happy. i <3 GSP.

  5. i gave a Hughes/GSP rematch more thought and it would totally fuck up any ranking they might have. assuming Hughes is #2 right under Serra, GSP would have to be #3 or lower. since Serra is out, you now have #2 and #3 fighting. if GSP wins it would be obvious he gets the next title fight, but that kind of screws Hughes since he never got his rematch. how the hell can they work this so it's fair?

    *edit*

n/m the Hughes/GSP match is now for the interim championship.

Agreed, but let's see if Houston can work on his ground game and come back to be a major player. Like Joe Rogan said, a lot of questions were answered about Houston Alexander.

What the hell's an "interim championship"? Does the winner co-own the belt w/Serra?

  8. This is getting crazy... Serra hasn't defended his belt in almost a year(coming up in April).

And three of the five UFC belts (if we are including Serra's) are currently held by people unable to defend them.
look here, upon a sig graveyard.

last time they did this was with Couture when he had two belts. i didn't understand it then either. perhaps whoever wins is the interim champ of course, then they have a match with Serra later on to see who the "real" champ is? still retarded.

so GSP is at a disadvantage with about a month to train. i would really lol if he tore his groin again.

TUF last night. Boo to boring-ass farmboy wrestler taking a page out of the Matt Hughes style of "MMA" to take down his opponent and...lay there.

One guy won't be able to go next week (obviously farmboy). Who would TNL put into that semi-final?

Also, love that quote from George about having to fight Farmboy, after Hughes is gloating about how it's such a great matchup for Farmer Boring: "That's why I train. To stop big guys."
