It'd be nice if our consoles would live longer than us so that we all can keep ourselves entertained by the time we hit the nursing homes. I'd rather be the cool guy playing retro games in his room than the one sitting in his wheelchair in the hall, staring blankly at the wall and passersby.
This is one of the biggest reasons why I like emulation. Twenty years from now, I'm gonna be able to play anything out today, no matter how obscure it was or how flakey the hardware was or whatever. You'l be able to download or emulate all these games in the future anyway. Who gives a fuck?
Hell, I vastly prefer playing Genesis, SNES, even PSX and older handheld games through emulation than their native platforms. Better display, no worry about losing saved games or corrupt carts, all of my games in one place.

Nomi, your 360 died two months ago. I know you think it's still alive, but it's time to let go.
Donk
The only systems that have ever died on me were the SNES (Original model) and a Playstation 2. Everything else has been golden, for the most part.
Emulation for the win, btw.
