Thread: All Consoles From Here On Will One Day Die

  1. make me a sammich nomi

    seriously

  2. The only system I've had die on me and actually give a fuck is my Dreamcast. I've been through three and revitalized one. The only reason I <3 the DC so is because MvC2 is arcade-perfect on that system only. It doesn't seeem like they'll be re-releasing it either.

<3 Capcom for re-releasing all the SF games for PS2, though. Man that shit was awesome.

I've went through 2 sega gens, but the first one was a launch gen and I had used it pretty roughtly for over ten years. It would go in and out of bags and such for trips to relatives houses and would be left on for days. Considering that, I'd say it was a great little system, build wise. I know most compuers wouldnt put up with the same conditions for so long.

It sucks that consoles die, but thats the life of electronics. Don't believe anyone that tells you anything electronics will last forever. There are more things with a shelf life than you know

  4. I love DC for VOOT, Samba De Amigo and Typing of the Dead. I can already play TotD on my PC, so if a DC emu will let me play VOOT and Samba, then I will sell off my DC as well.

  5. I just threw away a pile of about 2 dozen 500mb Hard drives.

Every single one still worked after about 7-8 years of service in various computer systems.

Id worry more about the optical drives more than anything else, esp. the still unknown durability of blu-ray and HDDVD drives

  6. I really can't wait until there's a better DC emu than Chankast.

Really, there are moments where Chankast seems to be truly perfect, yet it fluctuates speed-wise for no goddamn reason.

Well, that, and it's like early unstable N64 emulation.

  7. Flash memory keeps getting cheaper and larger, I think that's the future of gaming storage. It doesn't really matter though, because as far as I know both the 360 and PS3 hard drives are replaceable.

Anyone know how the speeds of flash memory compare to that of Sata hard disks? I know a quick Google could answer my question but I just love to hear the elitist sarcasm that TNL offers.
