The special features aren't that great. Most of the easter eggs are just hidden toy commercials. The "widescreen" isn't true widescreen. In the shots below, you will noticed they cut out the top and bottom =/
Cinex and Credit Test = Don't care.
The scramble city episode is cool in that it never aired in the US. It sucks in that you don't get a dub/sub copy of it. Sony felt you needed to hear 4 fans talk over the episode.
The Death of Optimus Prime featurette is kind of cool and yet kind of sad. Cool in that the movie had such a big impact on some kids. Sad in that some of the people pretty much admit that they were trying to kill of old characters so they could bring in new characters for the toy line.
The test/deleted footage sucks. It is nothing but a few seconds of this and that. None of it is anything you haven't seen before or adds to the story.
The toy commercials are kind of cool but are of low quality. They also blur out the faces of the kids. wtf?
Apparently Sony had the movie remastered for this release. I don't know if I really buy that. It actually looks like they ran the movie through a filter.
Hot Rod is now pink.
Hell, look for yourself.
Old then New
The Matrix of Knowledge is the best thing on the disc, and you don't even mention it.
There really was no need to show that many pictures showing the difference between widescreen and full screen I think everyone here allready fucking knows it.
He was showing the difference the "remastering" made. He even said it's not even true widescreen, the top and bottom of every screen is cropped.
Pls elaborate on the matrix of knowledge bombs.
edit: fuck beat me to it
HA! HA! I AM USING THE INTERNET!!1
My Backloggery
I got that it was for the remastering and not widescreen but I still think that was way too many pictures.
Regardless, the comments about compression make me wary of this. I'll buy it anyway (when I can find a copy) but if there's artifacting I'll bitch and whine like a good little messageboard goer.
=C
I can't do anything right.
Me last night.
"maybe I should take this thread serious, and take the time to get TNL a lot of screen caps. Everyone likes pictures, right? ^_^"
shows what I know.
Anyway, I had to go pick some one up yesterday in the middle of making this thread and forgot about the Matrix part. I can get to it later, or one of you two can talk about it.
Here are the goodies you get from the walmart ed. You get a little card about the size of a dvd that changes depending on what angel you look at it and a shirt iron on.
