I wasn't just going on TNL opinions but yeah, it has been getting more positive than negative impressions so it's tempting to buy. Even with games I really want, I often wait on them to save money.
not to argue, because i think you, if anyone, can make up their own opinion about games, but mixed? of the 6 posters who played it, one said he disliked it, and 2 of us are absolutly gushing about it. and the critical reception has stayed overwhelmingly in the 9's territory, so im a little confused on where you are seeing mixed. Its your call either way, and i think you will especially appreciate the 2600 touches, but im seeing a generally positive buzz on this game, and im enjoying the hell out of it myslef.

Bomberman on the 360 really has fucked up TNL's credibility.
Well, TNL's credibility during the first week or two of a game's release has always been a bit shady, but over time most of us come to the correct conclusions, or at least we flesh out our opinions into something really useful. <3 tnl.
Yeah, but how many of those people can we trust?
My only real issue so far is how forced everything sounds. I know you guys are going on about the old-school touches and all that, but reading a lot of it makes it sound to me like someone gave a makeover to a Newgrounds feature. It's like an update to Captain N that's so purposefully self-referential it's moved from ironic humor to idiocy.
Now, I haven't played it so I could be way off on all that, but I was more excited about it when I knew less. I'm still interested and I'll get around to it but this may be budget territory for me.
It really saddens me to see so many people waiting for a price drop on this game. If it doesn't sell well you'll play it for $20 in 6 months and bitch "this game is fucking awesome, if only there were more games like this". We can have more games like this if the people this game was created for in the first place actually buy it.
It had a really small initial shipment and seems to be selling out in a lot of places. Buy it and if you don't like it (which I can almost guarantee won't happen) just go back to the store you bought it at next week when they're sold out and say you've got a defective copy and need to exchange it.
I support what I can but being smart with what little money I have takes precedence. Now, if this and other Wii games would have demos like they should, I could get a better idea of whether I want it right away.
I understand completely (99% of the time I wait for price drops). I really think this game is so special that it warrants $50. The only other Wii game I can say that about is Mario Galaxy. The only games I paid full price for in the past 6 months are this, Mario Galaxy, and Halo 3. Knowing your taste in games and love for gaming's history (especially the 2600) I can't imagine you not falling in love with this game.
see, i kind of expected that comment from someone like yoshi or joust, its beneath neoz though, so i didnt figure he would go for that.
Now for neo's actual reason, limited funds, i totally get that, responsabilities before entertainment. but if this game tanks in the us like it did in japan and people bitch that there are no good third party games when this is a good third party game, im going to just write off "gamers" entirely for being a bunch of fickle bitches, and welcome my new "women and old people" overlords, maybe women and old people will buy beyond good and evil 2.
