From what I've read the 360 version has superior graphics and online features.

somewhere there is a comparison of the two. But they arent substancial differences from what i read.

im picking up my ps3 version in a few hours

From Gamespot:

The Xbox 360 version and PS3 version are functionally the same in nearly every respect, but you will find that, surprisingly, the Xbox 360 version will look a tad better, particularly in atmospheric particle effects. Otherwise, the only real difference between the two is the 360's achievement points.

Some of the reviews have made this go from insta-purchase to rental first. But I'm sure I'll like it, I love robots and am one of those people who will spend hours swaping out parts etc etc.

PS3 version (JPN atleast) had a lot of framedrops.

I'm a little disheartened at the news that the mech customization options have been restrained; ever since tabletop BattleTech I've been all about building mechs.
