Sleeve mailed me a copy of the game this past weekend. It totally fucking rocks.
Dolemite, the Bad-Ass King of all Pimps and Hustlers

I thought interest for this game died out awhile back.
"Your soul better belong to Jesus, mmm-mmmmm..... cause your ass belongs to me!"
After you do that, I love how you then become the chestburster and start by having to eat your way out of your host's chest. I was wondering if they'd have you do that, and when it actually did happen, I was like "no way!!"
What mission is that? I'm currently at the part when you go into the hive to rescue your sergeant (who dies as you find her) and have to fight your way out. That part's freaking hard. And Mission 4 of the Marine campaign rocks, hard.
I haven't really messed around with the Predator much yet, but it's amusing playing around with all his vision modes and using the speargun to take people's heads off.
Nope. As Sleeve says, for a 2003 game it holds up really well.

i have this. wonder if it works on vista.
People on the planetavp boards have been squabbling over why avp 1 doesn't work on XP with any nvidia driver past 65.00. If Vista doesn't run any of this, then it's usefullness as an OS goes straight to the toilet.

Yeah, that's the one. Scary as hell. The aliens are very difficult to see, they crawl all over the ceiling, and once you shoot them down the acid rains down on your head. The Smartgun is definitely your friend.
It starts off really easy but gets hard in a hurry. Camoflage isn't too helpful when you're infiltrating a camp filled with smartgun-carrying marines.I haven't really messed around with the Predator much yet, but it's amusing playing around with all his vision modes and using the speargun to take people's heads off.
I think it actually came out in 2001, same year as Halo.Nope. As Sleeve says, for a 2003 game it holds up really well.
Yeah, don't buy Vista any time in the near future if you still want to play your pre-XP games.Originally Posted by voltz

Hell yeah, that level is really unnerving. I mean, I almost needed to lie down and take a rest afterwards.
You can have the smartgun by that point? So far the only additional weapon I've found so far is the shotgun. The Smartgun is definitely your friend.
And you're so right about how perfect the audio is. The sounds of the pulse rifle, the motion tracker, the doors opening, the squeals of the Aliens as you blast them…perfect.
I even got excited when I saw the big lit-up "LEVEL #" signs in the base and the APC, all straight right out of the movie. This game rules.

Hey Dole, are you interested in single player missions? I've got links for Fear 1-2 and Island of the dead.

What are those, add-on missions for Avp2? If so, sure, Send 'em my way. Thanks.
BTW, one annoying thing about this game when playing as the Marine- having to constantly turn off your flashlight to let it recharge. I guess it adds to the tension to have to sit in the darkness and wait but it's still annoying.
