I'd eliminate the following:
Donkey Kong (is anyone really excited for the next DK rhythm or racing game?)

D&D (aside from Baldurs Gate, who give a shit about D&D games?)

Megaman (i think we've had enough thank you, more so since all the console versions since X4 and 8 have sucked)

Chrono (There hasn't been one in years, I don't feel like I'm missing out because of it)

Tetris (they've proven over and over that this was a two trick pony and need to just release prettier versions of the original and Attack for each new generation)

Sonic (I'd like to leave this life with fond memories of this series. Sega seems determined to ruin that notion)

So that opens up six spots. I'd add Doom, Devil May Cry, and Dragon Quest.
Give me three more, or make you own adjustments.
