The first two Ninja GUYdans were such a bitch to complete.
I never could beat the first two and didn't bother to play the third.
Edit: but at least I beat Battletoads!

Really? The first Ninja Gaiden was rough yes, mostly because of the bullshit of the last level, but the 2nd game was easy. The 3rd game was out of control hard on the NES, because the damage was doubled and continues were limited for the NA version making it damn near impossible, but really really easy on SNES Trilogy pack since that was the original japanese version..

I wish he had covered more games in the series rather than harping on the difficulty for so long, but otherwise it was good.

If you have the Jump and Slash item, you can beat every boss in one to two hits. One hit if you time it just right.
Ninja Gaiden is just memorization and scrolling back and forth to make the edge of the screen eat a couple of dudes. Standard NES tactics.
