And was on a system with 5 times the user base, no competition from the biggest and most successful software publisher in the world (Nintendo), and had a more receptive audience (M rated games traditionally don't sell on Nintendo systems).

1.2 million sales worldwide. That not bad for any 3rd party. Especially on a "dead" console.

Edit: Also I think that makes it the highest selling GC game in 2005. Looking for some other sales to back that up though.

Games that don't say Nintendo traditionally don't sell well on Nintendo systems. Have fun with RE spinoff.

Games that don't say Nintendo and aren't especially good or interesting traditionally don't sell well on Nintendo systems. Have fun with an entire game based on the awesome Mercenaries mode from RE4, utilizing an overhauled version of the engine from the best looking console game from last generation.

whlile there is no doubt that a nintendo platform works for the sake of nintendo games, a good 3rd party game can still shine on their platform.
