What you're talking about sounds like a light gun game. Yep, those would work with the Wiimote well.
Crime games like GTA on the other hand...
Plus LOL at a crime game that's not a straight port with wiimote controls slapped on. Do you seriously think any company is going to design one of those games from the ground up for the Wii? Maybe if they hate money.

No gnus is good gnus.
They didn't bring anything over though. That's the point. These are all PS2 and PSP ports with a different control scheme. That doesn't cost money. It doesn't take effort. It would be stupid not to. You've got a no risk proposition. Very cheap cost, a userbase starving for games = some sales (a somewhat sizable bag of peanuts) > money you spent on the project (peanuts).
Hell, the PSP PoP is going to be better:
1UP: Will the game content be the same on Wii and PSP?
BM: No. Despite the fact that the titles share the same name, the PSP version (!) features some unique levels and features (such as a multiplayer "race" mode). [There will be no multiplayer features or added content in the Wii version. -ed.]

Interview with Valve Software's founder and managing director Gabe Newell on pg. 42 of the new Game Informer:
What about the PS3?
The PS3 is a total disaster on so many levels. I think it's really clear that Sony lost track of what customers wanted. I'd say, even at this late date, they should just cancel it and do a 'do over.' Just say, 'This was a horrible disaster and we're sorry and we're going to stop selling this and stop trying to convince people to develop for it.' The happy story is the Wii. I'm betting that by Christmas of next year, the Wii has a larger installed base than the 360.
