Official Wii Thread: Part 4

I got my component cables today in the mail and I can't get widescreen to work. I've set both "widescreen" and "HD 480P" in the Wii setup menu, but I'm still not getting the wide image...

yet they can't make the Virtual Console any more then an emulator that has been available on your computer for the past decade.

I don't expect them to do those things. After all, Virtual Console lets them have a gigantic library of past titles.

From one corner of the Nintendo fan's mouth comes garbage about how extras on Sony's or Microsoft's machines are "inessential" and champion Nintendo for making a "pure gaming machine".

From the other corner comes praise for Nintendo for offering similar extras with their own machine.

I'd love to see Nintendo come up with something like memory cards with little black and white LCD screens on them that I can play mini games on to compliment their revolutionary online structure.

Jesus, I can't even count all the nintendo fanboys that said that online play "didn't appeal to them". But as soon as they release that shit kicker ds service they were all over it, damn hypocrites.

You do realize that it's because Nintendo is doing the same old crap, right? I find it really hard to believe that you're incapable of understanding that people can be amazed at a company that can add ridiculous, non-gaming related functionality to a gaming console while not actually improving anything related to the primary function of the machine.

Two months later, the people that hate the mistakes Nintendo made with the machine still hate them, because Nintendo has done nothing to correct them. Conversely, the people content to play an underpowered machine with no online functionality beyond what my cell phone can do are still content, because it hasn't changed.

It's not overly complicated.

That's a very verbose way of saying that everyone is making the same complaints they've been making since these Wii threads started, which is what I said more concisely. Anything else you'd care to explain in more words than I care to type?
