Its more than what you're offering. Its your own problem if you lack the insight to see that the Gamecube's top selling game more than likely helped sell more Gamecubes than probably any other game on the system. I guess you're going to say that the fact that Halo sold 5 million copies on the Xbox shows absolutely no proof that it helped sell the console, possibly more than any other single title? Thats not the sort of thing you need hard evidence to understand.

And just for the hell of it,

According to that, the first Super Smash Bros. sold about 5 million copies in Japan and the U.S., and Super Smash Bros. Mellee has sold 6 million.

Animal Crossing was a system seller for a lot of girls I knew.

  6. I'm still waiting on this proof, btw.

You're smart enough to know that you can't prove the validity of a statement by proving or disproving the validity of another, aren't you?
Do you not understand the concept of the process of elimination? If you can't name any non-system sellers that sold 6 million copies then logic dictates that SSB:M was a system seller. The franchise is comprised of two games on two platforms and it's sold over 11 million copies; are you just arguing against it's popularity to be contrary?

"January 16, 2002 - According to the Nihon Kezai Shimbun, Nintendo expects Super Smash Bros. Melee (called Dairanto Smash Bros. DX in Japan) to sell through one million units by the end of this week. Not only will it mark the first time a GameCube title has reached sales of one million, but it will have done so in just under two months since the title's release on November 21, 2001. With 1.4 million GameCubes sold in Japan through the end of December 2001, it's clear that Super Smash Bros. Melee is the system seller. The software-to-hardware tie ratio for the game is nearly 3:4, which is truly unprecedented. It's no wonder the company felt comfortable not releasing Mario Sunshine in time for launch."

You can stop waiting now, you're officially wrong.

  8. This thread went poisonously retarded ages ago. My advice to everyone concerned is to stop posting here, because whatever you say will be picked apart. People will dispute gravity and the need to breathe if you give them the chance.

Yes, but what I really want to know is how much money Nintendo made.
