I would say Wolverine is enough to offset his Broadway stuff but he also did Van Helsing. I haven't seen it though so I dunno if it's good or bad but in his other films (The Illusionist, The Fountain, Swordfish) he doesn't act all gay.
He needs do to a good few more films like the solo Wolverine movie, I could see him doing an awesome western given his Clint Eastwood presence, and maybe an epic war movie.
How about Gerard Butler from 300 and Daniel Craig? They're pretty physically tough and are good action stars so far. Thomas Jane would have been great if he continued with Punisher but he's out. Wesley Snipe's Blade movies always deliver on top of his other action films. Orlando Bloom would be added if he didn't always look so pretty boy'ish, looked physically bigger, and didn't do those bad fake accents.
It seems that WWE wrestlers are the only ones doing back to back action films and most of them aren't all that good. There definitely is a lack of balls to the wall action films the way they came out in succession during the 80's.Another problem that today's action stars have, aside from not being real men, is that none of them want to get "typecast" as action stars. They try to branch out into "sensitive" roles. Guys in the 80's didn't give a shit. Sure, they did the occasional family film, but then it was right back to killing.
Hell, even Carl Weathers a.k.a Apollo Creed had his own action movies with Predator and Action Jackson (which was awesome). It's too bad because we could use more of those
I dont know about Snipes. Have his IRS troubles been resolved?
I really hope so, i was really waiting for him to don the suit as Black Panther.
My main problem with alot of todays action movies is just way to much CGI. I watched Die Hard1, Predator1, and Aliens. They are about as badass as it got. NO CG overdose. Just good shootin and editing. Even Underworld spared the CG. they had people in actual lycan suits on the walls. i loved it.
thats one of the reasons i think il pass on Die Hard 4. just doesnt look like a Die Hard movie to me.

Something about Van Helsing as a character seemed very gay as well. Not sure what, but he was no Wolverine.
As a movie, however, Van Helsing was horrible.
I'm not saying that Hugh Jackman runs around wearing rainbow scarfs and lisping with cum dripping out of his ass in all his movies. And I'm aware that the guy is married (to a woman). I'm just saying that he just doesn't seem…I dunno…manly in any role other than Wolverine. It's just a weird vibe he gives off.I haven't seen it though so I dunno if it's good or bad but in his other films (The Illusionist, The Fountain, Swordfish) he doesn't act all gay.
Wow, did you ever nail it- I never even realized the while Clint Eastwood thing he channels when he's Wolverine until you said it. I bet Hugh would be awesome in a gritty western. He needs do to a good few more films like the solo Wolverine movie, I could see him doing an awesome western given his Clint Eastwood presence
Never saw 300. Daniel Craig has potential, but he looks like he could age 100 year overnight. How about Gerard Butler from 300 and Daniel Craig?
Agreed.Thomas Jane would have been great if he continued with Punisher but he's out.
The Blade series is done, and Wesley is washed up.Wesley Snipe's Blade movies always deliver on top of his other action films.
Hell no. He's a waifish little girly boy.Orlando Bloom would be added
