Umaga might be dead soon...

Edward Fatu, 36, is hospitalized in Houston and in what was described as life threatening condition by a long-time friend.

His family was told to come into town as quickly as possible. Family members have been told they believe he suffered a heart attack.

Details are sketchy at this point but he apparently fell asleep last night while watching television, and several hours later, his wife found him not breathing with blood coming out of his nose and he was rushed to the hospital.

Fatu, who lives in nearby Spring, TX, wrestled under a number of names including Ekmo, Jamal and most notably Umaga. He had just returned a few days ago from the Hulk Hogan tour of Australia.

He was released by WWE in June after failing a drug test and refusing the company's wishes to send him to rehab.

He's passed away. I read that it was two heart attacks but who knows. 36 years old. I can't think of any other sports/entertainment industry with some many young deaths.

Back when I gave a shit about wrestling, I really wanted to see Kurt Angle vs. Bret Hart. Angle would've carried his ass all through the match, but it still would've been so epic.

You think Bret would really do an angle with Shawn? I was under the impression that they hate each other IRL, but it could always be a work.

Don't know. I read that HBK wanted to make amends with Bret so maybe that happened behind the scenes. Who knows. Not sure what Bret can really do since he had a bunch of health problems including that stroke he had years ago. Don't know if he ever fully recovered from it but he looked ok at the 2006 HOF awards. I figure things must be ok now since Bret is doing the show and I guess starting some kind of story with Vince.
