Worked shoots are my favorite form of wrestling promos. Love this one from Joey Styles when he left on-camera work for the WWE. It urks me to no end that hacks like King, Booker & Cole are on TV and Joey isn't anymore.

I hate that wrestling promos are all scripted these days. I mean, Vince Russo writes every single line that comes out of the mouth of TNA's wrestlers.

ECW did a lot of things right, but my favorite part of it was how Heyman just gave dudes a mic and let them talk about whatever they wanted to for their promos.

WWF actually used to be that way in the '80s, and that's why they used to have awesome promos from guys like Savage, Jake the Snake, Rick Rude, Warrior, et al.

Now it's just a bunch of idiots reading from a script Obama-style.

He was, before ECW went to TNA. He started as a helper to Shane Douglas, then when he was hurt. He became Joey Styles' color commentator.

I honestly don't think CM Punk is that good on the mic. But him bringing up Vladimir and how dumb it was to have a make believe contract signing took balls. If he keeps that up he might go places. This scripted Summerslam sales pitch they've been running the last while has already bore terribly boring TV.

Everything is pretty deflated after that Summerslam wrap-up. I don't think it was bad, but it just seems like they completely spoiled the part of the show that was most interesting with the botched finish (leg on the rope) and the rehash of the money-in-the-bank briefcase yet again. Seriously the money in the bank cash-in has been used like 12 times now in the exact same fashion. I felt like the new Undisputed Championship would mean something a little more prominent and not be passed around like candy as it was for the past few years. D'oh well.

Loved the Orton/Christian match though. Reminded me of the late 90's early 00's WWE matches. Shemus/Henry match wasn't bad either.

These PPVs are always made about 200% better with the couple of guys who show up to the b-dubs that shows it and take the shit way too seriously. One dude was having a fit after the main event, saying it was bullshit and that they needed to fire HHH for his officiating, then flipped over a chair on his way out of the place while still talking to himself (he missed all the post match stuff).
