Eh, it's been sitting there on my shelf, all sad and lonely. So I figured I'd blast through it for the achievements and then get rid of it. Might as well get something out of the $25 bones I paid for the premium edition.
Then why the fuck are you playing it?
I guess asking why you bought it is a moot point.
Just finished Kameo on the 360.
Now... Marvel Alliance. I'm on a roll!
Just finished Breakdown. Ho lee shit at the white room T'lan marathon fight at Site Zero. Pretty much the most frustrating scenario I've seen in a game in years.
That aside, this game does so many cool things that I wish other FPS developers would try. FPSes need more specialized moves that restrict the player from time to time and make him not feel like a "floating camera". Shimmying on ledges, slides, throws, and so on.
Dull environments and pretty shitty gunplay, but those are already the age-old complaints for the game.
Cute Half-Life and Halo homages, too, even if the Halo one is a quarter of the game.
Dark Messiah was good at this, particularly with the camera work. Your head would snap back when hit, you could look down and see your body, see you hand when you gave someone something, and of course all the environment interaction. It really helped beat that "floating weapon" feel.
I just finished Diddy Kong Racing DS. I know everybody seems to hate on Rare now, but I still think that this is one awesome kart racing game. I thought it was more fun to play than Mario Kart 64 back in 97, and its still the most fun kart racer for my money. On a side note though, I do agree with the critics of this game about some of the touch screen elements. I actually enjoyed the "baloon popping" stages, but the "Boss Touch Screen Challenges" are down right the WORST use of the touch screen I have ever seen from any game on the DS. I'm really surprised that Rare let the game ship with these awful and buggy touch screen levels. Luckily these portions of the game are optional, or I could see it really ruining an otherwise great game.
