Well, I just didn't like the original GH. I know that's blasphemy, but I tried multiple times -- even delving into multiplayer once or twice -- and I just couldn't get into it. So AGH really didn't have to be very good to make me like it more. Beat 'em ups have never been my genre.
I enjoyed playing it more than the Saturn version also.
Both games are all kinds of awesome.
The countering mechanic in the GBA version is implemented well (straight out of Sin & Punishment), and I prefer the free roaming as opposed to the 3 planes of action. The Saturn version also gets a little too crazy at times, where-as I could always handle the GBA action (on any difficulty) after a bit of practice. The disjointed script translation of the Saturn version didn't help the flow or understanding of the branching paths - hindering the overall enjoyment. Overall AGH plays a lot smoother for me.
Astro Boy; on the other hand, did not hold my interest - primarily due to the characters.

Yeah, Astro Boy sucks. but it's not because of the characters.

Today i beat Mario Galaxy with 96 stars. There were some really obnoxious parts, like anything to do with that horrible spring and anything to do with killing a boss with one hit point, the hub was poorly thought out, Roselina was completely unnecessary to the game itself, just an excuse for being Peach's hot sister with a darling past that made me cry a little, the boss fights that weren't hit or throw shit at the boss made the boss fights that were hit or throw shit at the boss look bad, the swimming was a mess, the flying. WAS HORRIBLE. FUCKING AWFUL. and the star shooting was just pointless. Could've been something. And the ending was pretty stupid. Please never use voices in a Mario game again. Voice acting is the worst thing that happened to Mario after hand holding.
The platforming was pure and beautiful. that's why i loved the game. Best Mario since 3, but it could've been the best Mario. so damn close.
Final Fantasy IV Advance. For some reason, reading about FFIVDS made me really want to go back to my old save from last year. Finally got that god damn pink tail from the flan princess. I couldn't think of a way to say that without it setting me up. I must've fought over 100 of those bitches to get it. The graphics are better than i remembered, being more big and bright stylistically instead of being held back by lack of 16-bit sprite experience. If not for weird pausing and skipped turns, i'd start a new game tonight. Still going back and forth between the extra dungeons in this and VI. Gotta restart V too.

Why did you have to kill 100 creatures for a pink tail? Was it a drop? Did you need it in the original game? I don't remember anything like that.
Also, regarding Mario Galaxy, spoiler tags, plz.
It's a rare drop, there's a 1/64 chance you'll get it from any Pink Puff/ Flan Princess, which is a rare enemy in the last dungeon. And the chances of encountering a group of them? 1/64, and only in a few rooms, but you can use the siren from enemies in the Giant of Babil to call them right away.
Pink tail gives you Adamant Armor, strongest in the game. i think.
eventually the game ends, there's a spring item as mentioned in the instruction booklet, mario's voice is irritating, and roselina looks like peach with hair over one eyeAlso, regarding Mario Galaxy, spoiler tags, plz.

Just finished up Assassins Creed this morning. In the end I didn't care much for the game as it got ultra repetitive and I found the combat kinda clunky. I also got annoyed by all the nutjobs that push you around. Made me wish Desmond could bring an uzi from the present time so I can go rambo on all those wackos. The game now heads to ebay. Hopefully I can get 30 bones for it and then I'll just pick up The Witcher.
