i saw him at E3. he turned out to be a lot shorter and fatter then i expected.
didn't say hi to him though.
I know I've said it before, but I just read his E3 article and I'm very impressed with it. He really knows his stuff.
All mainstream sites should demand writers with this level of knowledge IMO.

Hmm, I would have to go with Steven Poole, a British writer: monthly column in Edge, various reviews/articles for The Guardian newsapaper (and a few others, I am sure) and you may have seen his book, Trigger Happy:

He also comes over to the Edge Online forums occasionally.
She Hates My Futon.
Got a few hours? Read it.
Steven Kent is god. I always make sure to read every article of his I can. Great journalist.
Kent's book "The Ultimate History of Video Games" (AKA The First Quarter) is must-read material.
And I enjoyed Poole's "Trigger Happy".
That bastard, I coined the phrase FPA(First Person Adventure) on this very board months ago. He must read these boards. Where's my royalties?
Nintendo's been using that term ever since they released details on Metroid Prime, so maybe you better go after them first.Originally posted by kbuchanan

The First Quarter was a pretty damn good book, despite some mistakes and dwelling on some boring issues. Just now reading Game Over. Not as good.
Hey Stibbons, I'll make a deal with ya. If you can manage to get this guy to work as a staff member for IGN (not a contributer, a real member), then maybe I'll sign up for insider!![]()
don't wanna tangle with you, I'd rather tangle with him.
I think I'm gonna bash his head in...
