Thread: Gamestop Absorbs Rhino Videogames

  1. So just now I hear about the existence of this place and it's already being assimilated?

    Jesus Christ.
"Your soul better belong to Jesus, mmm-mmmmm..... cause your ass belongs to me!"

  2. This is fucking horrible news. Rhino is twice the store Gamestop is. They carry a large stock of NES and SNES/Gen games.... essentially games throughout the history of games. Not just what's new and will sell the most easily. Funny thing is is that if Gamestop stopped selling stupid nongaming shit like DVDs and crap they could more easily have older stuff.

  3. No one wants that old shit.

Rhino was a mini-Gamestop with Dreamcast games. It's really not a big deal.

It's fun driving out to Friso or whatnot to hit a Gamecrazy. I've been to the other one, but I can't remember exactly where it was. There's a little shop called Game Trade that I ran across in Mesquite over the weekend. They have a fair amout of stuff, even some older things. I do like what the Movie Trading Company is doing now with the retro stuff. The one nearest me even had a pile of Atari games.
It was next to Walmart in Wylie. Wylie is just east of Plano and Murphy.

When I lived in Dallas, I'd often go to Movie Trading Company all the time. They once had a decent selection of Genesis, Sega CD and other console games, but they've pretty much cleared that stuff out. I don't know of any MTC sites that carry the more obscure titles you speak of.

The MTCs in Euless and Lewisville have a decent supply of older stuff. The Euless one even has a 3D0 for sale.

I'm not a devious man by nature... but when you're unarmed, your tactics might gonna be downright Archimedean.

  6. That sucks. I didn't have a Rhino around me, but quite a few SNES games I received in the mail had a Rhino sticker on the back, and I heard good things about em, though I heard their prices were a bit stiff.

    More monopolizing... oh well

    So, no.
Which part do they keep the used games in?

  8. Record exchange in Ohio FTW

Vinyl, old school cassettes, Nintendo game, undergound music (IE mike god damn jones 1 YEAR before he hit the big time) complete Atari games in box, used 360's for 299, etc. If you're even in town, PM me, I'll take you to one.

  9. I'd only ever heard of the store from a friend in another state, so this doesn't bother me much. He was really fond of Rhino though, sounded like a nice place.

And as much as it pains me, I agree with Biff about Record Exchange here in Ohio. They take -anything-. I've seen boxed Virtual Boys and shit like that there, and they regularly have Saturn consoles for sale, etc. Fun place.

I worked at Funcoland right before GS bought them out.

    Everything will change.
