Fuck yeah! Saw it on DVD a few weeks ago and laughed my ass off. Too bad the movie fell apart for the last 15 minutes or so.

  6. This was a pretty good year, but the summer kind of sucked though. There are still a ton of movies that came out this year that I really want to see.

    Good:

V for Vendetta: Best movie of the last five years.
    The Prestige
    The Fountain
    The Departed
    Jackass 2
    Borat
    A Scanner Darkly
    Little Miss Sunshine
    Blood Diamond
    An Inconvenient Truth
    The Queen

    Mediocre:

    Superman Returns
    Xmen 3
    Casino Royale
    Stranger than Fiction
    Ice Age 2
    Running Scared

    Bad
    Scary Movie 4
    An American Haunting
    Ultraviolet
    The Da Vinci Code

  8. The Departed. <-- that's a period

  9. I forgot half these movies came out in 2006. I'm not qualified to make a list.
    Time for a change

Oh god I hated this movie. The electric car died because it wasn't remotely viable, not because of a vast conspiracy (yes, they were fine for local travel, but completely impractical for long-distance travel, and since most people use one car for both forms of travel they're going to want a vehicle that can handle both). The whole thing struck me as a bunch of little kids coming up with all sorts of complex reasons for why their mean ol' parents didn't get them what they wanted for Christmas, when the real answer is that the stores were sold out. There are other solutions that are more economically viable and more environmentally friendly (where did people think all the electricity to power these things was going to come from? It would increase power demands immensely, and until we can get standards on more effecient energy production in place we'd just be shifting pollution from one source to another, gasoline to coal), and those are currently being persued.

Oh, and um. Casino Royale rocked my ass. The Departed was fantastic. Borat was hilarious.
