Thread: The Real TNL Pub 2007

  1. I'd pick Tanqueray over Bombay Sapphire in that price range.

  2. I liked Tanqueray alright until I tried Sapphire. Tanqueray tastes like rail gin to me.

I agree with this. Its greasy.

  4. Tanqueray is fine imo.

Despite being extremely bizarre product placement, it's the reason why I tried gin.

  6. The reason I tried gin is because I was at a party that had an open bar and my friend (who also doesn't drink much but was a bit drunk) tried a gin and tonic and exclaimed, "It tastes like pinetrees! I can taste the needles in my mouth!"
    Totally!

This is a better reason than mine.

I got into gin because litres of saphire were seven bucks in Mexico and I hated myself and wanted to be shitfaced all the time.

I think I was drunk for about 6 months straight. I think you were too.

  8. Meach, you gonna go?

  9. Dreamcast

Yes. Internet probs most of November. I did get your pm; sorry for the lateness.

    However!

I have a delicious cocktail that goes great with the holidays. Serve it at your company party, Christmas Eve (while watching Die Hard, of course) and The Big Day. It's tasty, cool, warms the belly (bourbon!), and it's fun to make (got your eye on a girl at work? learn to make this well and you'll have more than the usual to talk her up).

TNL, I give you the Washington Apple

    What you need:
    Cocktail shaker
    ice
    martini glass
    Crown Royal
    Sour Apple Pucker
    Cranberry juice

    1. Half fill your shaker with ice
    2. 2 parts Crown
    3. 1 part Sour Apple Pucker
    4. 2-3 parts cranberry juice (to your taste)
    5. Shake vigorously
    6. Pour into martini glass...

Now, the picture shows a lime, but I think that's bad form. At holiday time a cinammon stick would be fine, at other times of year a Jolly Rancher or cherry would be fine. The drink doesn't need a garnish.

You may be surprised by how much it tastes like a Granny Smith apple and your less-knowledgeable friends may take to giving you a hard time for an ostensibly girly drink. Make no mistake! This is a delicious cocktail and is enjoyed by manly men and girly women. Foo-foo it is not.

Anyways, make some this Christmas and let me know what you guys think!

    Enjoy!

  10. Man that is my favorite shooter and you nailed it
