Boot Camp ate my fucking HD. I fucked up and didn't prepare properly. When I started it, allocated the minimum 5GB, and had it partition, I restarted when it said to. Nothing happened. Now I have GB missing and Disk Utility insists that nothing is wrong. Boot Camp assistant doesn't think anything is wrong either, and now simply tells me that I don't have enough free space to run it anymore (since my previous 11GB free is now 6GB free)

The hell do I do? I have no backup device so I cannot reformat, I'll lose everything.

Didn't the instructions tell you to put in your Windows disc and then restart? That's the reason you're restarting: to install Windows. Hold the Option key down when booting and see if it'll let you select a Windows disc and then start installing anyway.

Boot Camp will erase and redo that Windows partition if you try to create a new one again.

I've put in the Windows disc and restarted like that. Nothing happened. I should have clarified that the Windows disc was in when I originally restarted.

I now realize that it was a bad idea and Apple is probably idiotic for even allowing you to do a partition install for Boot Camp.

They put vents on the machine that would allow you to water your laptop, but at some point, common sense just has to take over.

Nothing specifically said to use a separate drive. It's not as though I was being irresponsible. Maybe I missed something, in which case I concede failure.

Okay, I apologize for being an idiot and using software as specified in the user manual and assuming it would work. I shouldn't have asked for help because I did in fact click okay and it's clearly my fault. So sorry, Kano. <3 noms

i have bootcamp in my internal drive... :x

i did it while it was in beta, no real issues really.

Also, WTF apple, why do iphone headphones such so much balls. My 2nd pair is now stripped, the first pair lasted longer!

running an OS from an external is never a good idea for performance reasons imo.

why would anyone use the shitty bundles headphones with anything? Get a real pair. They break because you're not actually supposed to use them.
