Movies That Actually WOULD Benefit from a Remake

Any movie could inspire a good remake if there's actually an idea and an angle behind it. It's really gotta be more than "CGI would look pretty in this" though.

I said that with 2010:ASO, but it's not just CGI that would improve this movie. This space station isn't all that advanced looking now, so having interfaces that look more high tech and getting rude of those cheap buttons and lights would be a huge improvement as well.

Well it is a movie set 6 years ago, so you can't really expect it to be an accurate depiction of the time. Which is why it can't really be remade, either.

And, IMO, it's one of the worst movies I've ever seen, but we'll save that discussion for another day.

Shit, man, The Blob...I haven't seen that (the original, I mean) in...fuck, I don't remember when. And weren't there a bunch of sequels? I need to track that movie down.

Hmm...just checked Wikipedia. Apparently they ARE remaking The Blob again...

In 1988, a remake was made, in which the Blob is rewritten as a secret government project gone wrong. In 2006, Paramount Pictures announced a second remake will be produced by Scott Rudin, slated for release in 2007; Carey Hayes and Chad Hayes, who penned the remake of House of Wax, have been hired to write the screenplay.
