With the addition of 4 player co-op and the ability to save four players to a memory card I will be getting this game for sure.

I just hope they keep online play free

  3. I want the Cube version for the features, and I also want the Xbox version because of Xbox Live. Decisions...decisions...

well, that shouldn't be too hard of a choice.

you have your choice of all those new features, levels, weapons, and characters...
or you can give them all up so that you can talk instead of type.

    decisions...dicisions...

lucas, where'd you hear that the Xbox version wasn't going to have the new features and levels?

The XBOX version, as I understand it, is a sweetened port of the DC ver.2. The GameCube's version is called PSO: Ep. 1&2. XBOX only has a single episode, while the GC is getting the original plus a follow up.

Now by "episode" I think they mean that in the GC version, the game will progress past the point of where ver.2 ended, while the XBOX version will not. The BOX version may have some extras and added goodies, but I'm sure it won't be everything the Cube gets.

*This is by no means my attempt at reading Sega's minds. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong. But what can I say? I love sepculation.

  7. Thanks Jim. I thought that the two would be identical. If that's not the case, then I'll get the GC version.

Oh wait, I have to get the GC version. Xbox doesn't support 56k.

  8. well, from what i played at E3 it was nothing more then a port of Ver 2.0 with a more round menu interface (doesn't look anywhere near as cool as EP1&2s), and that nothing at all was added to the game aside from voice recognition.

that, and the fact that Naka has talked a lot of shit about xbox. the game came out of nowhere, so im pretty sure the game coming to xbox was Sega/Microsoft's idea and not Sonic Teams.

also, Naka once had a press conference just so he could make it clear that the GameCube version of PSO would be the best.

i mean, i could go on and on. how's this for you?
"If you're a fan of Sonic Team, you better buy a GameCube."

  9. I think it remains to be seen how the X box version turns out. Remember how the Game cube version progressed. First we learned of the new characters, then the new levels, and finally these weapons and extra tweaks. I'm sure the same could happen with Xbox PSO. Sonic Team may try to sell the GC version and then a month after release, give out info on a expanded Xbox version.

And that Naka quote was from last year right? Before Nintendo was hum-hawing around the net connection?

  10. Yeah, I remember Naka-san saying that about the Cube.

Well, the GC version it is!
